This November, local food pantries in Okeechobee are ready to help families in need. Please see the full schedule attached for pantry dates and locations.

Additionally, schools across Okeechobee are participating in a local food drive in partnership with Our Village. All schools are serving as donation sites—donations of non-perishable items are welcome!

Together, we can support our community and ensure no one goes hungry this season.

🤩 Science Has Been Busy in Mrs. Williams’ Class! 🗺️ National Parks Billboard Project Students explored the importance of protecting our national parks and showcased their learning through creative posters. They wrapped up the project with a Gallery Walk, offering thoughtful and constructive feedback on each other’s work. 🌍 Terrestrial Biomes Project Next, students became biome experts! They created detailed foldables and identification sheets, researched specific terrestrial biomes, and examined the habitats, locations, plant and animal life, and ecological importance of each. #ClassOf2029 #BetterThanAverage

🐜 Science in Action! Students explored microhabitats with antlions to discover what makes a habitat viable. They researched the antlion life cycle, made detailed observations, collected data, and drew conclusions based on five key environmental factors. 👏 So much curiosity and hands-on learning happening with Mrs. Williams! #ClassOf2029

We’re excited to share that Mrs. Bates has been awarded a mini-grant to support her students at OHSFC! This project will empower her 9th-grade ELA students—many of whom are ESOL and ESE learners—as they work to master a vital skill: identifying central ideas and relevant details in complex texts.

🌟 We are deeply grateful for the foundation’s continued support of teacher-led initiatives in Okeechobee that enrich student learning and spark innovation in the classroom.
In total, they funded 58 projects across the district!
